Chillingo has been starting to show Emberwind for iOS around and we're really excited about it. Most recently it was shown at PAX, and MODOJO wrote about it after having a look. ...we're looking forward to Emberwind on the iPhone. Besides, we need a break from playing Mario and Sonic. Let's see what this gnome can do.

The annual Top Casual PC games award at The Adrenaline Vault
has been posted and we're very happy to see Emberwind being picked as one of the twelve winners or one of "the very best hidden computer
treasures that casual gaming has to offer" as Bob Mandel of avault.com put it.
We're always glad to read about people enjoying our game and it's really what drives us to continue doing great indie stuff.

We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year filled with lots of great indie games.
As an extra little treat we've put together a seasonal Emberwind icon pack.
Enjoy and see you all next year!

Emberwind was reviewed in Level, the largest printed game-magazine in Romania. It scored a solid 8/10 which we're glad to see.
If you know Romanian you can read the full review.
For those of us that don't know a word of Romanian, Editor Andrei Licherdopol very kindly provided us with a summary in English.
"Emberwind is a welcome purist casual platformer with an undeniable old-school appeal, blessed with a charming whimsical
fantasy setting that we wished was exploited a bit more by this title. With a definitely well-chosen and charismatic protagonist
that Kindle proves to be (not to mention Wick his mystical owl companion), hilarious enemies and a brilliant (literally)
antagonist, a nice variety of moves and great level design that remains consistent throughout the surprisingly lengthy campaign,
Emberwind turns out a worthwhile and enjoyable experience for both the youngest gamers and the more experienced players that
search a relaxing break from all the gratuitous violence, gore and sexuality that unfortunately drowns the majority of today's
video games. Bring it to your children (or your inner child) with no worries whatsoever!
While neither revolutionary nor perfect and perhaps a tad on the easy side, Kindle's adventure is perfectly worth your time
and money, being also one of the cutest titles to recently hit the market."

One year ago today, TimeTrap launched its first independent PC/Mac title Emberwind!
The past year Erik and I have gotten a lot of encouraging emails, met a ton of great independent developers
and snuck off for a much needed break. The whole rewarding experience can definitely be credited to our
friends and family, but most importantly to you, our customers.
We thank all of you very sincerely for your purchase, as it provides us with resources to continue doing
what we love to do; making our own games!
So to celebrate Emberwinds first anniversary we are selling it
off our site at 50% off for the rest of the year.
Pick up the free demo and give it a try, if you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it you
won't be disappointed during the holidays.
Merry Christmas greetings from the Emberwind team.

Here it is finally,
the review from Swedish TV morning show with english subs.
There's a button to turn them on in youtube if you don't have that enabled already.
The review is obviously aimed at the morning show audience, hence a great deal of time is
spent explaining "indie games", but never the less it's a great review and Emberwind
scores an impressive 4/5.

Thomas Arnroth, probably the best known games reviewer in Sweden who has his own segment in
one of the morning shows on national TV, did a review of Emberwind (link to video will
be posted shortly). After the review he did a
follow-up interview with me for it24.se.
Unfortunately it's in Swedish and google translate is doing a pretty poor job with it.

Emberwind has been rated by MetaCritic and scores an average of 79 which is rated as
"Generally favorable reviews".

Catastrophe at ZTGameDomain or Cathlin Sentz as her RL name is made a really nice
review of Emberwind scoring an 8/10.
You can tell she's spent a good deal of time in the game and done a thorough analysis pointing out the goods and the bads... water death pits! Ah, yeah what a blunder!
Good thing they're few and far apart. The pits aside she seems to have really enjoyed it and writes:
"This 2D platformer is cartoon pretty and intensely cute. If you want a fun platformer, Emberwind is an excellent option and a treat for the $12 price."

Manfred Beck at GamingXP.com has made a
review of Emberwind. It really stretched my high-school German to the limit,
but what a great review! Emberwind scores a very solid 77% and had it not been for the missing
multiplayer it would've scored well into the 80 mark.
German readers, please don't beat me up if I misquote this :)
"Ideal for casual gaming, Emberwind also provides enough depth for [serious] long term gaming,
and as was mentioned before, it's suitable to anyone."
Posted by Erik Möller
Paul at GamerLimit has made a
review of Emberwind scoring yet another 7/10.
In his summary Paul writes:
"If you fondly recall time spent playing old platformers, then Emberwind is most certainly a game
for you. Regardless of any niggling flaws, the game is an almost illegal amount of fun to play."

Daniel at ApertureGames has made a review of Emberwind
scoring a pretty decent 7/10.
"Emberwind is a great game for younger players, with very little that would offend, and ultimately how much
you enjoy Emberwind is fully dependant on the challenge you’ll get for it.
I highly recommend you give the demo a try."
